Is this finally the year for BMW at Lime Rock?

BMW Team RLL is on a two-race winning streak in the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patr¢n. A third straight GT triumph couldn’t come at a better place than Lime Rock Park – the home venue for BMW North America and site of next week’s American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix. Bill Auberlen would like nothing more than to help make that happen.

The chances are pretty good. Auberlen has 10 career professional victories at Lime Rock and has been on the podium the last two years with BMW Team RLL. He’ll drive next week with Dirk Werner, his full-season partner in the ALMS.

“Lime Rock Park is tight as a bull ring and has a more character than many tracks twice its length. I have won more races at Lime Rock than anywhere else and Joey Hand has won many races there too, all in a BMW. That car seems to be made for that track! We love the spectators that come and fill those beautiful hills. I love the town, the restaurants, the people and returning every year. The Downhill is my favorite part of the track. It is what separates the good from the great. I love that Downhill flat out. And, some 55 seconds later, you get to do it all over again!"

This year’s race is scheduled for 2:05 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 9 with live video coverage available on ESPN3.com in the US, and americanlemans.com for international users. Worldwide radio coverage will be available on American Le Mans Radio at americanlemans.com. ESPN2 will air the race starting at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, July 10.
