Iowa Corn Indy 250 ratings up 35 percent over 2010

Overnight ratings of 56 metered markets for VERSUS' broadcast of the Iowa Corn Indy 250 presented by Pioneer under the lights June 25 at Iowa Speedway were 35 percent higher than the 2010 afternoon race broadcast on the network. The rating of 0.35 (400,000 households) is still not big, but moving in the right direction.

Marco Andretti, who started 17th in the No. 26 Team Venom Energy car, overtook former Andretti Autosport teammate Tony Kanaan on Lap 232 and went on to a 0.7932-of-a-second victory. It was Andretti's first since August 2006.

Through five IZOD IndyCar Series races aired on VERSUS, ratings are up 14 percent over the same number in 2010, and the Iowa Corn Indy 250 broadcast was 30 percent higher than the 2010 season average on the network.

The race will be rebroadcast at 5 p.m. (ET) June 27 on VERSUS.
