HRT switching development to 2012 car

Hispania Racing’s Colin Kolles has revealed that the Spanish team will soon be moving all attention to its 2012 car. The switch will come as the new-for-2010 outfit, attempting to finish tenth in this year’s Constructors’ Championship, begins work in the Mercedes wind tunnel next month.

Hispania’s year began poorly, with the outfit missing all four pre-season tests before duly failing to qualify for the opening round in Australia. In Canada last Sunday, the team enjoying what was statistically its best ever result, with Vitantonio Liuzzi finishing 13th and ahead of both Virgin cars plus the Lotus of Jarno Trulli.

“The team in itself is a strong team with a lot of dedicated people who give 100 percent and work very hard," Team Principal Kolles says on the Hispania website.

“We are a small team but very efficient. Of course there are always things to be improved and criticism is okay, as long as people understand what they are talking about."

Kolles went on to outline the team’s immediate plans:

“We will switch very soon to the 2012 car. There are still a lot of races left this season; we want to improve our results and achieve our target of being tenth in the Constructors’ Championship."
