Fastenal Adds an Additional Seven Races to Nationwide Schedule with Roush Fenway

On the heels of its sweeping one-two finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway last Saturday, Fastenal announced today it will add an additional seven races to its 2011 Nationwide Series schedule; serving as the primary sponsor on the No. 60 Ford Mustang of Carl Edwards.

“With all the success we’ve had on the track with Carl Edwards and the entire Roush Fenway team, we feel our racing program has taken a big step forward this season," said Fastenal’s Executive Vice President of Operations Cory Jansen. “We’re excited to keep the momentum going for the expanded race schedule and, hopefully, get the Fastenal name into victory lane a few more times in 2011."

Fastenal was originally the scheduled primary on the Roush Fenway No. 60 Ford Mustang for 15 NASCAR Nationwide races in 2011, but will increase that number to 23 events with today’s announcement.

“I am proud to represent Fastenal," said Edwards. “They have been great partners. They not only sponsor the car but they provide the services and the tools that Roush Fenway Racing needs to get our business done. I am honored to drive the Fastenal Ford and hopefully we can get them some more victories. It has been a blast standing in victory lane with the folks from Fastenal."

Edwards has won three NASCAR Nationwide races this year, including two in the No. 60 Fastenal Ford. In addition, Matt Kenseth took the victory last weekend in the No. 16 Fastenal Ford, with Edwards coming in a close second.

Fastenal is now on track to be the primary sponsor on 25 Roush Fenway NNS entries this season, including its sponsorship of all three Roush Fenway Fords in the Top Gear 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway last Saturday. The company made a splash at Charlotte by posting the 1-2 finish and placing all three Fastenal Fords in the top four, after Ricky Stenhouse Jr. started the race from the pole.

The seven additional races include:

Chicagoland Speedway – June 4

New Hampshire Motor Speedway – July 16

Nashville Superspeedway – July 23

Chicagoland Speedway – September 17

Dover International Speedway – October 1

Texas Motor Speedway – November 5

Homestead-Miami Speedway – November 19
