Andretti Foundation to Benefit Local Dallas Charities

The Michael Andretti Foundation, in conjunction with Dr Pepper Snapple Group, announces today that it will be hosting an event in Dallas to benefit the Children's Museum in the new Perot Museum of Nature & Science with a portion of proceeds going to Speedway Children's Charities at Texas Motor Speedway. The event will be held Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Gilley's Dallas.

This limited event will include both live and silent auction packages featuring wine country travel packages, authentic racing memorabilia from the Andretti's personal collection and once in a lifetime IndyCar experiences. Throughout the evening guests will also experience:

  • A special greeting from Michael Andretti
  • Live entertainment
  • Guest appearances by INDYCAR drivers (including Marco Andretti, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Mike Conway and Danica Patrick)

In late 2012, the Museum of Nature & Science will open the new Perot Museum of Nature & Science, a 180,000-square foot facility, filled with ten permanent exhibition halls that include extensive information about engineering, energy, earth, and life sciences. One of the current Museum's most popular areas, and undoubtedly one of the future Museum's most anticipated spaces, is the Children's Museum. In this area, the youngest visitors will playfully enjoy discovering their world through dynamic interactions with objects and phenomena, while developing literacy, science and math skills.

Funds will help support the design development and the educational programming within the Children's Museum, thus improving and expanding the Museum's overall early childhood education initiatives. The Michael Andretti Foundation is proud to support the Museum and help them "Inspire Minds Through Nature & Science".
