Krohn Racing Announces Sponsorship Joint Venture for 2011 ILMC

Tracy W. Krohn, owner of Krohn Racing, announced a sponsorship joint venture today just as the 2011 Intercontinental Le Mans Cup Series season kicks off at Sebring International Raceway, Sebring, Florida.

Next Generation Athletics, a start-up company better known as NXG, has joined Krohn Racing to travel the globe on the Ferrari 430 GT for the ILMC global series. NXG is an eco-friendly designer athletic wear line that promotes a healthy lifestyle and looking fashionable while you do. NXG’s President/CEO Eddie Compass IV had an idea to blur the line between fashion and athletics by changing the misnomer of having to go to the gym in torn shirts and old shorts. He has designed a line that uses the highest quality materials and unique color combinations that are fashion-forward. NXG is more than just a company, it is a culture. NXG is about leading a healthy lifestyle, being fashionable, staying up with the latest trends, being winners and never settling for less. These unique qualities and elements brought about the joint venture sponsorship with Krohn Racing.

“We are looking forward to this joint venture as it rolls out in front of an international stage," said Tracy Krohn, owner/driver of Krohn Racing and a native of Houston, Texas. “I am always looking for new ideas and new ways of doing things and the NXG label fits square in the middle of that proposal. We look forward to competing on this global stage through ILMC and NXG."

“When I founded NXG I set out a three-phase plan," said Eddie Compass IV, President/CEO of NXG. “This plan culminated in international expansion. I have done a vast amount of research and have come to the realization that we live in a global economy and that sports is one the one thing that transcends all races and cultures. When I watch the Olympics I often dreamt about having a country donning NXG apparel. With our newly founded partnership with Krohn Racing, NXG now has the platform to literally be seen by a worldwide audience and for my Olympic dream to come into fruition. Krohn Racing, via the ILMC, will give NXG unprecedented exposure by racing in Belgium, France, Italy, China and England, to name a few. This partnership has a limitless amount of potential for NXG. I truly believe that with the quality of our brand and commitment to excellence NXG will be a household name on a worldwide level."

The No. 57 Krohn Racing Ferrari 430 GT will compete in the GTE Am class of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup Series with drivers Krohn and teammate Swede Nic Jönsson, and for the longer races, Italian Michele Rugolo. Krohn and Jönsson have been on the podium at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2008 with a third-place finish. They also have two podium finishes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2007 (second) and 2009 (third).
