Dodge supports move to fuel injection

In response to NASCAR's announcement of the technology partnership with Freescale Semiconductor and McLaren Electronic Systems to develop and integrate fuel injection systems into the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in 2012, Dave Bailey, Senior Manager of Dodge Motorsports Engineering, offered the following:

"Dodge Motorsports is very familiar with fuel injection technology from our production car applications and we are excited to see it implemented into NASCAR. Dodge Motorsports and Penske Racing have been working on integrating it into the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series engine for over a year. Dodge is working closely with Penske, NASCAR, McLaren and several other partners to convert engines from carbureted to electronic fuel injection. The Penske Engine group has already engaged with McLaren's TAG (Techniques d'Avant Garde) Group. NASCAR has provided very clear and fair rules for fuel injection which will continue to foster a competitive environment." Dodge Motorsports PR
