A bad week for Rafael Matos
“This has been a bad time for me," an emotional Matos said as he fought back tears. “I lost my father two days ago, and this announcement with Tony doesn’t really matter right now; everything will be OK there, I believe. It is a great team and I love driving for them; becoming an IndyCar driver was always my dream and what I work [towards] for 15 years. To lose my seat in a circumstance like this—I needed to bring funds—is hard, but I have the trust of the team owners, which matters the most to me. They believe in me."
