Auto GP to offer 700,000 euros prize money in 2011

The Auto GP contenders will race for an overall 700,000 euros prize in 2011, as the series has decided to reward on track-results with money as it already did last year. Whilst the prize money concept is very popular in American motorsport, Auto GP was the first series to adopt it in Europe and has decided to keep the same philosophy for next season. This means that at each Auto GP event the contenders will race for a 100,000 euros prize, money that will be shared between the top 3 of the weekend classification, calculated upon the points awarded for the race standings, the fastest laps and the pole position.

The prize money will be allocated as follows:

1st class. € 60.000
2nd class. € 25.000
3rd class. € 15.000

The prize money will be paid after each event, in order to make it a real help in coping with the season costs.

Enzo Coloni: "2010 was a big success for Auto GP, and I'm proud to say that we will be even stronger in 2011. We will have one more event, and our partnership with WTCC and Eurosport will guarantee our drivers the best international stage. Now we can confirm a noteworthy prize money that, given a very competitive season budget, will really help the competitors to face part of the costs: I really feel that everything is in place to make Auto GP the most interesting Championship among the feeder-series of Motorsport".
