No word yet on F1 reserve role for di Resta
The 23-year-old Scot, a frontrunner in the DTM series for Mercedes' works team, impressed at the recent young driver test at Jerez, going second, fourth and second quickest respectively over the three days.
Di Resta was notably faster on all three days than fellow Force India tester JR Hildebrand, an American, after team boss Vijay Mallya said the duo were competing for the full-time reserve role.
"The testing went superbly well and it is something I've been waiting for a long time," di Resta, third in this year's DTM series, told his local West Lothian Courier newspaper.
He said Mercedes powered Force India has not yet told him he has secured the seat.
"There has been no word yet and although I am hoping to hear in the near future I understand these things take time," said di Resta, whose cousin is the reigning IndyCar champion Dario Franchitti.
