Rosberg names Brawn and McLaren as 2010 options

(GMM) For the first time, Nico Rosberg has named Brawn and McLaren as his two alternatives to remaining with the Williams team for the 2010 season.

Asked by the German magazine Sport Bild about the Brawn and McLaren links, he said of the two Mercedes-powered outfits: "I admit that I have had contact with these teams.

"In addition I am talking with my team Williams. My contract runs out this year and every driver has the obligation to seek the best option for his future," said the 24-year-old German.

Rosberg admitted that one obstacle at present to Williams' chances of retaining him is the uncertainty about the British team's engine supply plans.

The Grove outfit is currently supplied by Toyota, but Renault and Cosworth are touted as alternatives.

"Who supplies the engine is of course an important factor that I need to know," said Rosberg, who added that he hopes to have his plans for 2010 clarified within the "next four weeks".
