Gallagher joins Cosworth

Cosworth return to Formula One next season with the new Campos, Manor and USF1 teams and announced today that Mark Gallagher is to lead the firm’s Formula One Business Unit and will represent the engine builder at the track and take responsibility for Cosworth’s relationship with its customers.

Gallagher is the co-founder and managing director of Status Grand Prix, the team that won the A1 Grand Prix championship under the Team Ireland banner this year. He is stepping down from his management duties to join Cosworth.

"The opportunity to lead Cosworth’s Formula One operations is one that I am relishing," said Gallagher.

“As we start an exciting new chapter in the history of Cosworth’s contribution to Formula One my focus will be on ensuring that the technical excellence inherent in our products and the trackside support we will provide will play a significant role in enabling our customers to achieve their goals.

"The last four years have been challenging and rewarding in equal measure, particularly as they culminated in us winning the A1GP title for Ireland which was both a personal ambition as well as a team goal," he said.
