"We are doing this in the name of sport," MSC's Angelo Codignoni said to Autosport. "From our point of view, the procedure for dealing with new entrants was not respected and there was not transparency about the process and preparations for the 2010 championship."
Although the former Eurosport chief executive officer did not specify the particulars of the situation, N.Technology's complaint could centre around the belief that the FIA insisted that new entrants used Cosworth engines, an apparent instruction which was leaked by another non-selected entrant to a current team.
On a related note, AutoRacing1.com learned this weekend that Cosworth offered the teams two options, one of their older engines running at a higher RPM, or a brand new engine running at 18,000 RPM that gets better fuel mileage and is on par with the other engines on the grid. The Cosworth engine will be supplied to conform to the FIA regulations mandated for the 2010 F1 season, i.e. it will be a brand new design.
