Hildebrand wins Lights race at The Glen

JR Hildebrand

JR Hildebrand held off polesitter James Davison to win today's Firestone Indy Lights race at Watkins Glen. Hildebrand passed Davison on a restart about halfway through the caution riddled 30 lap race and from there was never headed despite several restarts.

Afterward Hildebrand said, "It doesn't get any better (than an American winning on the Fourth of July). This race win couldn't have happened at a better time for us. I knew we had a strong car going into this race. We were sitting there thinking, 'We cannot accept defeat today.' It's America's birthday. I can't be more happy with it."
