Bill Pappas Joins Dale Coyne Racing

Engineering great Bill Pappas has joined the Dale Coyne Racing squad for a full assault at the 2009 Indy Racing League season.

Pappas, who is best know for his multiple wins at Ganassi Racing, comes to Coyne with a wealth of experience. Bill has engineered and won on every type of circuit from road courses to short ovals to the famed Indianapolis 500. His reputation has earned him the ability to work with the worlds best drivers. Such driving greats including Jimmy Vasser, Gil de Ferran, Juan Pablo Montoya and Bruno Junqueira. Bill’s litany of success is a welcome addition to Dale Coyne Racing.

“I cannot say how excited we are to have someone the caliber of Bill Pappas join our efforts this year," commented team owner Dale Coyne. “Last year was an important learning curve for us, but with the addition of Bill we look to move strongly up the ladder into podium and winning positions."

Pappas currently resides in Indianapolis but is a Chicagoland native. Attending and graduating from Purdue University in 1983 with a Mechanical Engineering degree, Bill has spent the past 25 years in professional motorsports.

“Dale is committed to winning and that has been my entire mission in racing," expounded the likeable Pappas. “We have a lot to do but everyone on the team is committed to success in 2009 and beyond."

The team is working on making 2009 their best year yet, with addition of staff, engineering improvements and the knowledge learned from 2008. While no official drivers are announced yet, look for the venerable Dale Coyne Racing group to be ready for a competitive weekend at the season opener in St. Petersburg, Florida April 5th.
