Gulf Air gears up for F1

Gulf Air yesterday unveiled a new Formula One look for one of its aircraft ahead of next month's Bahrain Grand Prix.

Nearly 32 artists and technicians spent more than 7,000 hours painting on the design, which incorporates the black and white checkered F1 flag and the color of Bahrain's national flag.

It was created by Gulf Air corporate development department aircraft analysis manager Bader Yousif Murad, an artist with a passion for aviation since his childhood.

Chief executive officer Bjorn Naf and senior officials attended a ceremony at the Bahrain International Airport VIP Tent on the occasion.

"The flow and direction of every angle in the design creates a virtual race track imagery, disappearing into infinity and reappearing continuously," said Mr. Murad.

"I am sure it will be an exceptional sight in the sky and on the ground."
