STR not worried about riding troubled Bull

(GMM) Gerhard Berger on Friday said he is not anxious about shortly taking delivery of the very car that has put Red Bull Racing's season under a cloud in Malaysia.

Following a spate of suspension failures in Australia and now Sepang, where on Friday the front of David Coulthard's RB4 fell to pieces after a minor off in morning practice, stewards have warned the Austrian team to explain why they should not be excluded from the race weekend.

Toro Rosso, Red Bull's junior team that is now partially for sale, is scheduled to begin using the basis of the RB4 – to be rebranded STR3 for the Ferrari engine mounting – in a few races' time.

50 per cent team owner Berger at Sepang said he is not contemplating turning down the troubled RB4 so that his outfit can continue with its solid 2007 car.

"We are going to face the problems and try to sort it out," he said.

"The potential of the new car is clearly, clearly better."

Red Bull officials are currently putting together a detailed technical report, at the stewards' behest, that they hope will prove Coulthard's failure was a one-off.

In a meeting on Friday, the stewards warned the Milton Keynes based team that they risk falling foul of article 2.3 of the technical regulations, relating to 'dangerous constructions'.

"We have absolutely no concerns about the car's safety for tomorrow," team boss Christian Horner said.

"Nothing is certain, but we are working with the stewards and hopefully everything will be alright for tomorrow," he added.
