Electrical problem for Heidfeld’s BMW

(GMM) Nick Heidfeld broke down with an electrical power problem aboard his BMW Sauber in the Friday morning free practice in Melbourne.

The problem also triggered his in-car fire extinguisher, with the resulting mess now needing to be cleaned up.

Speaking with the media, the 30-year-old – who expects to be back in action this afternoon – expressed surprise that the four Ferraris and McLarens were so far ahead of their nearest challenger — Mark Webber's Red Bull, which was more than a second slower than the fourth placed McLaren of Heikki Kovalainen.
