Forsythe Performance Research offers Winning Services

Forsythe Racing Inc., a long-time leader in the motorsports industry, has formed Forsythe Performance Research (FPR) to provide its high-tech services to the motorsports industry.

The announcement, made today by FPR Vice President Neil Micklewright, signals a new direction for the Forsythe team that boasts an incredible record of success in motorsports, dating back to its first season in 1983 when the Forsythe Racing team, with rookie driver Teo Fabi, earned the pole at the Indianapolis 500 and finished second in the season-long CART standings.

“We’re looking forward to offering our expertise and unique technological tools to help those in motorsports who place a premium on performance," Micklewright said. “Many of our technical and engineering services are simply not available anywhere else in the U.S., and we’re eager to work with teams, corporations and any others involved in racing, whether it’s in the IRL, NASCAR, ALMS, Grand-Am, Atlantics or any other racing series. We’re all about winning, and we’ll do everything we can to remain on the cutting edge of technology with Forsythe Performance Research."

FPR already has secured its first client in new Indy Racing League team Conquest Racing.

“We are working very hard on our transition from Champ Car to the IndyCar Series and we are excited about this partnership with Forsythe Performance Research," said Eric Bachelart, owner of Conquest Racing. “Their knowledge and experience will accelerate our efforts of becoming a front-running team in the IndyCar Series."

Added Micklewright: “With the extensive racing background of Forsythe Racing and the fine team that Conquest has created, we feel assured that 2008 will be an exciting and challenging year for all concerned."

FPR will offer a wide range of services including but not limited to Diff Dyno & Dampers; Engineering Support & Software Simulation; Car Preparation, Crewing & Sensors; and Design & Manufacture.

The new company is owned by Gerald Forsythe, chairman and CEO of Indeck Power Equipment Company and Indeck Energy Services. Forsythe’s team has posted 32 career racing victories, and they set the standard of motorsports sponsorships with its progressive affiliation with Player’s Ltd. starting in 1993. Over the years, the Forsythe team has featured legendary drivers Jacques Villeneuve, Greg Moore and Paul Tracy. Forsythe Racing will field a two-car team with drivers David Garza and James Hinchcliffe in this season’s Cooper Tires Presents The Atlantic Championship Powered by Mazda, an open-wheel racing development series co-owned by Forsythe and partner Kevin Kalkhoven.
