Carrier to work as Hornish’s crew chief

Chris Carrier was named Friday as crew chief for the No. 77 Dodges to be driven by Sam Hornish Jr. in the 2008 Sprint Cup season. Carrier, 47, comes to Penske Racing from Morgan-McClure Motorsports, where he was crew chief for Ward Burton on the No. 4 Chevrolets and also directed the team's Cup and Busch series programs. "I know there are a lot of good, talented people at Penske Racing and … I plan to take full advantage of their knowledge and resources while also giving as much as I can back to the team," Carrier said.
