NASCAR Martinsville TV ratings plummet

UPDATE NASCAR's TV ratings continue their nosedive for the 2nd year running. Fox's broadcast of the April 1 Goody's Cool Orange 500 NASCAR Nextel Cup race at Martinsville Speedway earned a final Nielsen Media Research rating of 5.3 and a 13 market share, Street & Smith's SportsBusiness Daily reports. The rating is 14.5 percent lower than the 6.2/15 the race drew in 2006. The Daily also reported that Fox's broadcast of the March 31 Craftsman Truck Series race at Martinsville drew a final 1.6/4

04/02/07 The overnight TV ratings for Sunday's NASCAR Nextel Cup Goody's 500 at Martinsville was a 4.9/11 rating on FOX, down 4% from last year's 5.1/12 share overnight rating.
