Toro Rosso car’s maiden run delayed

(GMM) Toro Rosso's controversial new car failed to make its track 'shakedown' on Tuesday, despite the fact that Vitantonio Liuzzi's V8 engine was running.

With just a few minutes before the day's scheduled action drew to a close at the Circuit de Catalunya group test, BMW's stricken Nick Heidfeld brought out a red flag and put paid to the first laps of STR2's life.

Liuzzi, 25, will now drive the familiarly-liveried car for the first time early on Wednesday morning — the last of the three day test.
