Richard Childress inducted

NASCAR champion team owner Richard Childress was inducted into the Rotary Club of Oceanside Stock Car Racing Hall of Fame last night in ceremonies at The Shores Resort and Spa in Daytona Beach Shores. The 18th annual event also saw the induction of legendary NASCAR executive Les Richter.

“What a great honor it is to be inducted into the Rotary Club of Oceanside Stock Car Racing Hall of Fame," said Childress. “Many of the men in the hall of fame were my heroes growing up, people in the sport I have looked up to and respected, and my friends. I was at Dale’s (Earnhardt) ceremony in 2004 and thought it was a great tribute so I was honored when I got the news about my own induction."

The Hall of Fame is located inside The Shores Resort & Spa. Past inductees include Richard Petty (1990), Bill France (1993), Benny Parsons (1998), Bill France, Jr. (2001), and Dale Earnhardt (2004).
