Brittany Force hospitalized after NHRA accident

Brittany Force, daughter of 14-time NHRA Funny Car champion John Force, was being observed at a Las Vegas hospital Saturday after hitting the wall during preseason testing at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The 20-year-old was making her second test run in a Super Comp dragster when she shook the tires after leaving the starting line and brushed the left-lane retaining wall. She managed to shut the car off as she stopped down the quarter-mile strip.

Force was alert and responsive and was taken to University Medical Center for observation. She is the second of Force's three daughters competing in the NHRA: the oldest, Ashley, 24, announced Tuesday that she will move up from the Top Alcohol class to drive a fourth Funny Car for her father in the Powerade pro series.
