The commercial, filmed at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Brickyard Crossing Golf Course, shows Meira as he speeds around the historic 2.5-mile oval while golfers “test drive" new golf clubs. The spot is part of PING’s “Drive Across America" campaign, where the PING van visits different landmarks across the United States.
“It was a fun day for all of us," Meira said. “Anytime I can go to Indianapolis and turn laps I get excited about it. It was fun when I was running by myself at over 200 mph, but it was difficult when we shot the scenes with the PING van and I had to keep the car under 100 mph. It felt so slow it was painful. All that made me want to do was get back to IMS in May so I can go fast again."
It was the first time PING has utilized motorsports in its commercials. IndyCar.com
