Hockenheim to return in 2008, 2010

(GMM) For the first time since 1986, Hockenheim is set to miss out on hosting a grand prix next year, but the German venue will return to the formula one calendar in 2008, a spokesperson said.

German agencies 'Sport-Informations-Dienst' and 'Deutsche Presse Agentur' quoted Hockenheim's Hartmut Tessereaux as explaining that an arrangement with Bernie Ecclestone and the Nurburgring has been reached to annually alternate the German grand prix.

Hockenheim is reportedly already guaranteed races in 2008 and 2010, with Nurburgring set for 2007 and 2009, even if the actual contracts have not yet been signed.

Hockenheim mayor Dieter Gummer said: ''We are glad that we could reach an agreement.''
