Elan Motorsports and F2000 Series alliance

The F2000 Championship Series and Élan Motorsports Technologies are very proud to announce the forming of a strategic alliance between the two organizations to further the growth and enrichment of F2000 racing in North America.

With this alliance, Élan Motorsports Technologies (EMT), the manufacturer of F2000 Van Diemen race cars, will fully support the F2000 Championship Series as the premiere tube-frame F2000 professional racing series in North America starting with the immediate finalization of overall plans for the 2007 season and going forward.

EMT plans new research, design and product development targeted toward advancing the high performance and safety for all of its F2000 Van Diemen tube-framed cars. FIA safety testing is planned for all of their components.

"Van Diemen has such a terrific heritage in racing," said David Bowes (EMT CEO), "and we are delighted to have reached this alliance with the F2000 Championship Series. Our cars have been champions in all forms of racing for many years and that will continue. Van Diemen chassis’ have always provided great value for money and we are committed to continuing that strength for many years to come for all of our customers." Bowes added, “The F2000 Championship Series has tremendous growth potential, having proven that with a very successful 2006 season, which is why we are renewing our commitment to F2000 racing in North America. The professionalism exhibited by the management and competitors of the F2000 Championship Series has been a great encouragement to all of us at EMT. We look forward to a great 2007 and wonderful success for all involved for many years to come."

"All of us at the F2000 Championship Series are very excited about this news," said Michael Rand, Series Director for the F2000 Championship Series. "This is a win-win situation for all involved, and particularly for all current and future owners of F2000 Van Diemen racing cars competing with us. We are looking forward to closely working with David Bowes for the ongoing benefit of our competitors and the continued growth of the F2000 Championship Series."

With the inaugural success of this year’s F2000 Championship Series, for 2007 the series is looking to add more high-profile events and is currently in negotiations with those circuits and sanctioning bodies towards an early finalizing of the 2007 schedule. The F2000 Championship Series features both Zetec and Pinto powered F2000 cars that compete in a single-class on a level playing field all racing exclusively on Hankook Tires. The inaugural F2000 Championship Series has featured events at historic North American road racing circuits such as Watkins Glen, Lime Rock Park, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Virginia International Raceway and Summit Point Raceway.
