GPMA now has a website

The breakaway Grand Prix Manufacturers Association (GPMA) now has an official website. Announced in May 2005, the GPMA (Grand Prix Manufacturers Association) is an interest group representing the car manufacturers that participate in Grand Prix motor racing. The GPMA's activities aim to further develop the sport for the benefit of all stakeholders, and in particular the fans.

In close cooperation with the teams that currently participate in Formula One, the founding members of the GPMA – BMW, Honda, Mercedes-Benz, Renault and Toyota – dedicate their unrivaled experience and resources to the long-term future of Grand Prix motor racing.

With that said, the breakaway series will never happen. It's all posturing for final negotiations for a new Concorde Agreement in 2008 and beyond. Notice that all its members are the same companies that are trying to tie up the entire F1 grid with engine contracts so they can control all the teams. Only the Red Bull 'B' team (Squadra Toro Rosso – Red Bull Team in Italian) and Williams remain independent with Cosworth and of course Ferrari, also on the side of Bernie and Max, have their team and the Red Bull Minardi team.
