Dalziel back to sports cars

Ryan Dalziel returns to sports car competition this weekend competing in the ‘Infineon Technologies Grand Prix of Sonoma', round five of the 2005 ALMS. Teamed once again with Alex Figge, the former Toyota Atlantic rivals will share driving duties at the Infineon Raceway for Pacific Coast Motorsports behind the wheel of the GT1 #5 Menards-Yokohama Corvette C5-R.

Dalziel's trip to California follows the 23-year-old's top-ten performance in the Champ Car World Series at the Molson Indy Toronto last Sunday, 10th July. The Orlando-based Scot welcomed the opportunity to make his premier open-wheel start on the back of an offer from Dale Coyne Racing and with the kind permission of PCM, there being no conflict that day between the two schedules.

Ryan switched disciplines with ease and hustled his Champ Car to an impressive ninth place finish on the streets of Toronto having had just one day of testing in the car prior to the weekend's first practice session.
