JDX Racing Signs Brazilian Vinicius Papareli for Formula Lites

LOVELAND, Colo. (May 27th, 2015) – Veteran sports car race team JDX Racing in conjunction with IndyCar Driver Justin Wilson is proud to announce their entry into the inaugural 2015 Formula Lites Championship season. Entering the series with a talented young driver making his North American open wheel debut with the potent new Crawford FL15 / Honda powered / Pirelli shod single seater, JDX Racing is excited to open a new chapter.

JDX Racing is pleased to announce the signing of Vinicius Papareli. The 16 year old native of Ṣo Paulo Brazil is entering his his first full season of racing in the United States. Coming off his most successful season in 2014, Vinicius finished the season second in the chase for the Petrobras Karting Championship. Vinicius' entry into the Formula Lites series will be his North American debut and is with one intent Рa deliberate assault to claim the Series Championship.

Vinicius commented, "I'm thrilled to be joining JDX for the inaugural Formula Lites season this year. The JDX team is full of seasoned racers including the partnership with Justin Wilson. Every open wheel racer's dream is to race in the Indianapolis 500, to join a team this rich in racing pedigree is a great opportunity for me. I'm going to be sponge around these guys, I'm willing to do anything to bring home the season Championship."
Team co-owner, Harrison Brix said, "We are excited to enter the Formula Lites championship in this first year of competition – and we are confident Vinicius is going to give our team plenty of time at the front of the field. In addition, we are very proud that Justin has joined the JDX Racing program for 2015. We recognized the opportunity that the new Formula Lites series has presented for young talented drivers, this is a unique opportunity and an important series to have for standout racers in karting to take their skills to the next level, and obviously Justin can help them in their pursuit."

The Formula Lites series is a great opportunity for a successful kart racer to progress to the next level of open wheel racing. Racing is obviously in my DNA and having the chance to work with a talented young racer and providing a mentorship is very rewarding."

The green flag for Rounds 1 and 2 of the Formula Lites 2015 season is scheduled for May 29-30 at Thompson Speedway in Thompson, Connecticut. The revitalized, 1.7 mile circuit will kick-off the first two rounds of the Formula Lites, 6 event / 12 race season.
