Esteban will Race with top Euro F3 team

Esteban Manuel Gutierrez

The young talent, Esteban Manuel Gutierrez, native from Monterrey Mexico, and current champion of the Formula BMW Europe series, confirms his participation in the 2009 season with the successful French team ART Grand Prix. Same team in which British driver Lewis Hamilton was champion in 2005, and in which German driver Sebastian Vettel also participated in 2006. Esteban had the chance to test in the prestigious circuit of Magny Cours, at the beginning of November with the team that has won the F3 Euroseries title five times in a row. Esteban clicked very well with the team from the first minute, and expects to reap more successes with them and continue growing in his career as a professional driver and of course, represent his country, Mexico in an exceptional way.

This test and others that Esteban had with other teams have helped the Mexican driver to adapt to the Formula 3 car, which has a greater aerodynamic load than other formula-type cars he has raced before, which makes them more difficult to drive. Gutierrez also has learned a great deal about the technical aspects in the different tests that he had with various F3 Euroseries and German F3 series teams. Everything he's learned in the different training sessions will help the young 17-year-old driver to incorporate to this new challenge called the Formula 3 Euroseries.

"I feel very happy to be part of a very competitive series; I think that this way I will learn a lot of new things that will serve as an experience to get better as a driver. I feel very happy to have come to an agreement with ART, to compete in this series. I feel grateful to my family, and the people working with me, because I know we will work all together looking for the victory, always being proud to be a Mexican. With God's help I will put all my effort and dedication to obtain the best possible results with a lot of enthusiasm" commented Esteban Gutierrez.

"I am pleased to confirm Esteban, who had a very strong and successful season in Formula BMW last year, as ART F3 driver; he did a very good job during our winter test session at Magny-Cours and the collaboration with our engineers was perfect; we will have a very strong line up for 2009 and our target will be to catch a sixth title in a row. Regarding Esteban, the gap between formula BMW and F3 is important but I am sure that Esteban will be a hard worker, he will improve during the season, and will be able to score some wins" commented the manager of the team, Mr. Frederic Vasseur.

Esteban will return to Europe by mid-January to continue with his physical training and keep focused for his first pre-season Formula 3 Euroseries test, which will take place on March 18th and 19th, in Portugal, at the Estoril circuit which is 4.183 km long.
