Hulse Joins DFR for 2008

Fullerton, Calif. – Reigning Pacific F2000 Masters champion Chuck Hulse announced this week he will contest the 2008 Pacific F2000 Championship with Dave Freitas Racing. Hulse has every intention of successfully defending his Masters title (for drivers aged 51 or older) while still remaining a serious front-runner for overall honors.

“I am very excited to race for DFR and feel the team’s focus on the series and hands-on approach will be just the tune-up my program needs to put me on the podium regularly in this very competitive series," stated Hulse, who scored eight Masters wins from 12 races in 2007 and scored a best overall finish of second at Miller Motorsports Park while driving for Team G.FRO.

Hulse, from Yorba Linda, Calif., will defend his title in the #21 Silicon Salvage/Dave Freitas Racing Van Diemen, and will begin testing with DFR next week at Buttonwillow Raceway Park.

“Given Chuck’s performance last season I have no doubt he will be up to speed right off the bat," said team owner Dave Freitas. “Despite being in the Masters class, Chuck has shown the speed to compete for podiums and race wins at tracks like Miller Motorsports Park and Infineon Raceway, making the goal for 2008 to consistently have performances like these."

Hulse will team up with 2006 Pacific F2000 Champion Robert Podlesni, who is making a return to the sport after a one-year hiatus, as well as fellow Masters contender Peter Hastrup and Ira Fierberg, who won the 2007 Pacific F2000 Expert Championship.
