Stewart honored with Canadian Racing Series

People who talk racing in Canada know the name Brian Stewart. More evidence to that fact is the recent naming of two series after the Indy Pro Series team owner and Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame member.

The Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship Series was formed recently by four Ontario kart clubs. Six event weekends are scheduled beginning May 27-28 at the Simcoe Kart Club in Sutton.

Already, more than 200 karters age 8 and up are registered in various classes.

Stewart's name also adorns the Ontario Formula Ford Championship. That series will run seven event weekends beginning June 3-4.

Stewart won the Canadian Formula Ford championship in 1972. Top drivers from each series will be rewarded by Stewart with a custom-fit Bell Dominator helmet as well as a test in an Indy Pro Series car at Nashville Superspeedway. IRL
