Fontana could jettison Grand-Am and IRL

This SBsun.com article speculates that California Speedway in Fontana could eventually drop the Grand-Am and/or IRL races from its schedule if Champ Car loses Long Beach to Tony George which would result in the IRL at Long Beach with perhaps the Grand-Am series as a support race. Neither the IRL nor Grand-Am draw many fans in southern California at Fontana and that can't be lost on the Grand Prix Association and Dover Motorsports in Long Beach. Last week's Grand-Am race had perhaps 1,000 paying fans in attendance (some say 500) and the IRL race draws a small fraction of what Champ Car drew when it was in Fontana. With both races money losers for Fontana, and because they now have their two coveted Nextel Cup dates, dropping Grand-Am and the IRL could be an easy decision for ISC who owns California Speedway.
