Will the Superfund Series ever materialize?

UPDATE A reader writes, It sounds to me like OWRS should be talking to the Superfund people to form The Superfund Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford. They seem to have problems getting started and Champ car needs new cars! Kelly O'Connor, Altoona, Iowa 02/09/05 The Formula Superfund Series could relaunch itself as an Asian-based winter championship, says series boss Martin Schneider. The launch of the 600bhp GP2 rival, originally scheduled for May, was postponed earlier this year. Now it could take on the A1 Grand Prix series by running over the winter. Schneider said: “Asia is a very interesting market for Superfund. We believe in the concept of this series and we
are working hard to make it succeed. We hope to announce our plans in May." The Austrian company has held talks with the Coloni-run Italian F3000 series about a title sponsorship arrangement. Autosport Magazine [Editor's Note: There are simply too many series out there and not enough sponsor dollars for everyone to be properly funded. Don't hold your breath on this one.]
