Boris Said to drop Grand-Am in favor of Nextel Cup

Boris Said will be leaving a long-standing association with Tom Milner's Prototype Technology Group, which fields two BMW M3s in the Grand American Rolex Series, to drive with MB2's NASCAR team in at least twelve Nextel Cup races next season. Said broke the news during a Grand American Road Racing Association teleconference called to discussing his forthcoming Rolex Series showdown at California Speedway. "It's supposed to be announced in a couple of weeks, but it'll be with MB2 Motorsports, the same team I've been running with this year," Said said of his new Cup deal, "I just can't keep my mouth shut as I'm so excited about finally getting the opportunity to do some of the big races. I just can't wait to get going." Said stated the team will run the road course events and at larger tracks, omitting the shorter tracks from the schedule – at least for now. "For sure, we'll run California again, because we did decent there, but it'll include the Brickyard, Texas, Daytona and Talladega," he said of his prospective campaign, "Hopefully, I'll talk them into a Martinsville or Bristol, but we haven't got that definite yet on the schedule. "We'll also be doing a couple of Busch Series races in 2005, in Mexico and at Watkins Glen, plus this year's race at Homestead in November." Said also indicated that the current MB2 ownership team will possibly grow to include the car's 2005 sponsor, whom he declined to name.
