Indy 500 Car Count (3rd Update)

UPDATE Another update with the announcement of Michael Shank being involved with Jack Harvey's 500 effort.

04/12/17 With the addition of Fernando Alonso we now can see a way forward to 33 cars for the 500 per our updated table below.

04/10/17 We have updated our table below based on the announcements over the weekend. The best we can get to is 32 cars and that includes the 2 for Juncos and 1 for Lazier. No guarantee all 3 will happen, but even if they did, where will the missing one come from? The Hulman George family are going to have to open their wallet and pay a team to run someone to make it to 33. We suspect they will keep the money in the family and give it to Tony George's team – Ed Carpenter Racing. And to think Tony George killed CART which used to deliver upwards of 40 car/driver combos for the 500 year-in and year-out.
