First-Day Sales Of Super Sebring Tickets, Parking Crush Records

First-day sales of tickets and parking for what is being dubbed the 2019 “Super Sebring" doubleheader of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Advance Auto Parts and the WEC 1000 Miles of Sebring rose more than 314 percent over opening-day sales for the 2018 event.

A large percentage of reserved track-side parking spaces and Sebring’s premium ticket – Club Sebring – were sold on day one.

“The addition of the WEC 1000 Miles of Sebring to the legendary Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring schedule is already proving to be a huge success," said Wayne Estes, president and general manager of Sebring International Raceway. “Our phones have been ringing non-stop and online sales have been amazing. We’re not only seeing a tremendous response from our returning fans but also a large influx of new fans from Europe and Canada alike. The activity we’ve seen is backing up our claim to this being one of the greatest weekends of sportscar racing in the history of the United States."

Up to 20 hours of the greatest sportscars and drivers in the world will compete on the 3.74-mile 17-turn circuit over two days. The WEC 1000 Miles of Sebring is expected to be an eight-hour endurance race and will take the green flag at 3:55 p.m. Friday, March 15. The next day, the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring will start in its traditional 10:40 a.m. time slot.

Tickets and reserved track-side parking are available online at sebringraceway.com or by phone at 800.626.7223. Advance-purchase prices are in effect through Feb. 13, after which gate prices will apply to all ticket sales. A discounted four-day early-bird Superticket is being offered until Nov. 12. Gates will open at Sebring at 6 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, and will remain open 24 hours a day through Saturday’s 12-hour endurance classic.

The Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring will be the second round of the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. IMSA will be celebrating its 50thanniversary in 2019. Friday’s FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) race will be round six of the “Super Season" that concludes at the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.

A wide variety of ticket options are available, including four-day, two-day (Friday/Saturday) and Saturday only. As always, children 12 and under will be admitted free. Active military and student discounts are also available with proper ID.

Race fans will notice many upgrades at the famed Sebring facility when they arrive in March, most notably a new bridge into Green Park for both vehicles and pedestrians and the new pit lane from Turn 15 to the Ulmann Straight to be used for Friday’s 1000 Miles of Sebring.

Also on the Sebring 12-Hour weekend schedule are the Michelin Pilot Challenge, which will take place Friday prior to the 1000 Miles of Sebring, and Thursday’s IMSA Prototype Challenge race. Practice and qualifying will begin on Wednesday.

Sebring also will feature ample off-track activities such as the traditional driver autograph session, a display of historic race cars, entertainment at The Spring Brake Party Zone and fireworks.

Preliminary Schedule

The preliminary event schedule for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and FIA World Endurance Championship double header at Sebring International Raceway has been released.

The March 13-16 event will feature the 67th annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring on its traditional Saturday race day, with the new 1000 Miles of Sebring WEC race set to run from 4 p.m. – 12 a.m. on Friday evening.

WEC’s first trip back to the Florida airfield circuit since its inaugural race in 2012 will begin the weekend prior, with a two-day private test on March 9-10, with a pair of Free Practice sessions scheduled for Wed., March 13.

It will be followed by FP3 on Thursday afternoon and qualifying from 9:30-10:20 p.m. on Thursday evening.

WeatherTech Championship qualifying, meanwhile, has been moved to Friday morning, from 9:30-11 a.m., in the only significant change in the series’ standard timetable.

The two-hour Michelin Pilot Challenge race takes place from 12:05-2:05 p.m., followed by the 1000-mile/eight-hour WEC round, which will run into the night.
