Gilliland to Cup in 2007

After scoring what many believe to be the biggest upset in Busch Series history last week at the Kentucky Speedway, David Gilliland's stock has shot through the roof. The 30-year-old California driver has spent a lot of time this week listening to offers for 2007. "We have received three or four really good phones calls from some of the top teams in both Busch and Nextel Cup. It's really exciting, it's really a great accomplishment and achievement for me. We've dedicated our whole life to racing. For it to finally to be paying off and getting some opportunities to go and show what we got on a higher scale and higher level it's been really good." There's talk Gilliland may wind up with a deal to run all the Cup races. When asked about that he said, "I feel confident we'll be full-time next year. Whether it's Cup or Busch we will be full-time next year. That's something I just can't stop smiling about. It's a dream come true no matter what happens. We're one step closer and we're enjoying every minute of it." PRN's Garage Pas Radio Show
