John Cummiskey Racing Signs Australian Driver Jordan Lloyd
Jordan Lloyd |
John Cummiskey Racing (JCR) today announced it has signed Australian driver Jordan Lloyd for the 2015 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda season. Lloyd will compete in his first season of U.S. competition aboard the team's #34 Mazda powered entry.
Lloyd, 19, finished second in the hotly contested Australian Formula Ford Championship with a series high six wins.
"I am very excited by this opportunity from JCR to race in the USF2000 Series this year," said Lloyd. "The cars and tracks are a bit different than I am used to in Australia but we are hoping to be competitive straight out of the box at the Cooper Tires Winterfest."
"I'm very happy to have Jordan join JCR for the 2015 season," said John Cummiskey, owner of JCR.
"He impressed us in testing at New Orleans (NOLA) in December, and worked well with the team and our engineer, Louis D'Agostino. We now have two rising Australian talents on our squad with Jordan joining Anthony Martin, and I again want to thank Mark Larkham from the Australian Motor Sport Academy for all of his efforts in helping to put us together. We can't wait to get the season started at the Cooper Tires Winterfest in February."
USF2000 is the first official step on the Mazda Road to Indy – an unparalleled ladder system which offers scholarships to drivers at every level to assist in progression from the grassroots of the sport through USF2000, the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires and Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires to the Verizon IndyCar Series.
