World champion Sebastian Vettel heads ROC show

Sebastian Vettel will celebrate becoming the youngest world champion in the history of Formula 1 in front of his home fans at The Race of Champions in Düsseldorf later this month.

The 23-year-old will drive his triumphant RB6 round the ESPRIT arena on November 27-28, thrilling the crowd with doughnuts and plenty of smoke. This will form part of a busy line-up of shows supporting The Race of Champions.

Vettel will be accompanied by a selection of stars on two wheels and four. The Red Bull FMX riders will show off their motocross antics courtesy of a line-up including 2008 X-Fighters champion Mat Rebeaud, New Zealand’s Nick Franklin and Sweden’s Daniel Bodin. Chris Pfeiffer Streetbike Freestyle Rider will also return to perform his daredevil moves.

Away from the Red Bull fold there will also be action from DJs, cheerleaders and stunt driver Terry Grant, the veteran of many ROC appearances.

The shows all support The Race of Champions, which has been staged every year since 1988, founded by IMP President Fredrik Johnsson and Michèle Mouton, the world’s most successful female rally driver. The competition brings together the world’s greatest drivers from motor sport’s most prestigious disciplines and pits them head-to-head in identical machinery.

Johnsson said: “We’re delighted that Sebastian will have a chance to show his home fans the car that took him to the F1 world championship. There is no other event on the motor sport calendar where the crowds can get so close to the action and no doubt the cheers will drown out the noise of the engine."

Tickets are still available from www.raceofchampions.com with prices starting at 29 Euros. Sign up for all the latest updates at www.raceofchampions.com, @raceofchampions on Twitter, or Race Of Champions on Facebook.

*German-speaking fans can register now at www.eventim.de/vettel for the chance to join in a virtual autograph session with Vettel tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday November 17) from 1700 to 2100 CET.
