Tagliani to run Texas Nationwide Race
Canadian open-wheel driver Alex Tagliani is scheduled to make his second Nationwide Series start in the O’Reilly Challenge, driving the No. 81 Dodge entry for MacDonald Motorsports. Tagliani competed in the Champ Car World Series (formerly known as Championship Auto Racing Teams) from 2000-’08 and finished among the top 10 in the championship on six occasions. He currently competes in the IndyCar Series and the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, and is now trying his hand in NASCAR’s national series. His first Nationwide Series start came earlier this season at Montreal, where he finished 26th. Tagliani already has competed at TMS once this year, but it came in an open-wheel car as he finished 14th in June’s Bombardier Learjet 550k.
(Editors note: after running Texas in an IndyCar and CART at speeds over 235mph, running around the place in a Nationwide Series car will likely just put him to sleep…)
