Red Bull switch KERS

Red Bull have confirmed they will use Renault's KERS system this season rather than their own device.

The team's attempts to develop their own Kinetic Energy Recovery System were hampered last year when smoke pouring from a battery forced them to evacuate their Milton Keynes factory.

And with the 2009 season starting in two months' time, team boss Christian Horner has now revealed that Red Bull have opted instead to use the system developed by engine supplier Renault.

"We will await the outcome of Renault's initial running before activating our identical system," he told autosport.com.
