F1 News: Lewis Hamilton’s Neat Burger chain goes belly up (Update)
The business lost over $10million USD back in 2022. By 2025, only two stores in the UK remained, both of which were shuttered this week, the Sun newspaper reported.
“We have no further comment at this time, other than to confirm that the business has taken the difficult decision to close its UK restaurants,” a Neat Burger spokesperson said. The business employed around 150 people, all of whom are expected to lose their jobs.
“I believe we need a healthier high street option that tastes amazing and offers something exciting to those who want to be meat-free every now and again,” Hamilton said during the burger chain’s launch in 2019. Customers apparently did not think so.

Vegan food restaurant chain Neat Burger, owned by Lewis Hamilton and Leonardo DiCaprio, have reportedly closed all of their UK outlets after six years of business.
Set up by Hamilton and DiCaprio in 2019 among a host of other celebrities, the eatery’s closure could prompt around 150 job losses.
The Sun claimed that in 2023, the company posted substantial financial losses and half of their branches in London would close. That is in addition to their New York establishment, which was shut down last summer.
At the time, a company spokesman said: “We are concentrating our efforts on our best performing restaurants — we believe that sometimes taking a step back is necessary to make a bigger leap forward.”
