UNLV student and rising motorsport talent Mateo Siderman has achieved breakthrough performances in the prestigious Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America series, securing an impressive 2nd place and 5th place finish in his class during two separate races at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in California.

Siderman’s Turnaround

Competing alongside teammate Michael Johnson with TR3 Racing, Siderman demonstrated remarkable improvement from his debut race at Sebring International Raceway earlier this year. While his first outing ended prematurely due to suspension issues with a 28th place finish, Siderman roared back at Laguna Seca with impressive results, taking 2nd in his class during one race and following up with a solid 5th place finish in the second.

The iconic Laguna Seca circuit, known for its challenging elevation changes and the notorious “Corkscrew” turn, provided the perfect backdrop for Siderman to showcase his rapidly developing skills behind the wheel of the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evo.

The Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America series features exclusively Huracán Super Trofeo Evo cars, creating an intensely competitive environment where driver skill makes the difference. These powerful machines are equipped with 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engines capable of producing 620 horsepower at 8250 rpm, demanding precision and confidence from their drivers.

Siderman’s rising profile has attracted support from several notable sponsors, including New York marketing firm Bussler & Co. The agency, led by Frederik Bussler, has leveraged this strategic partnership to connect with luxury audiences while supporting Siderman’s promising racing career.

Siderman’s partnership with TR3 Racing, a respected motorsport team known for nurturing talent, has also been instrumental in his rapid development. The team secured victory in the 2024 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Pro Championship, providing Siderman with an ideal environment to grow as a driver.

Balancing Studies and Racing

Despite the demands of competing at such a high level, Siderman continues to balance his racing career with his studies at UNLV, where he majors in Business Administration and Management. The Las Vegas-based student athlete has demonstrated remarkable time management skills, excelling both on track and in the classroom.

Before transitioning to motorsport, Siderman was a decorated football player, earning First Team All-Conference honors during his varsity career at Tarleton State University in Texas. His athletic background as a standout wide receiver at Westlake High School in California provided a strong foundation for his competitive spirit and mental toughness, qualities now serving him well in the high-pressure environment of professional racing.

Looking Ahead: Watkins Glen and Beyond

With the momentum of his Laguna Seca success, Siderman now sets his sights on the upcoming race at Watkins Glen International in New York, scheduled for June 19-21. The historic road course presents another opportunity for the rising star to continue his upward trajectory in the series.

Siderman’s long-term ambitions include earning a place in the Lamborghini Young Driver Program and competing in the prestigious IMSA endurance races, goals that seem increasingly within reach after his strong showing at Laguna Seca.

“We’re taking it one race at a time, but the results at Laguna Seca give us confidence heading to Watkins Glen,” said Siderman. “Every lap is a learning experience, and I’m focused on continuing to improve with each event. The competition is fierce, but that’s what makes this series so exciting.”

With the continued support of Lamborghini Westlake and other sponsors, which provide valuable resources for his racing career, the UNLV student is quickly establishing himself as one of the most promising talents in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America series.

The racing community will be watching closely as this emerging talent continues to climb the ranks in one of motorsport’s most competitive proving grounds.
