MotoGP News: Brad Binder tops Practice 2 in Barcelona
Brad Binder (pictured) spearheaded a surprise KTM one-two, edging out the Marquez brothers during Friday practice for the 2025 Catalan MotoGP in Barcelona.

Marc Marquez dominated much of the morning session, while Alex took charge in the afternoon, both brothers logging extensive laps on medium compound tires. Meanwhile, morning pacesetter Pedro Acosta stayed competitive, trailing Alex by a fraction while focusing on the soft rear tire.
With 15 minutes remaining, KTM’s Enea Bastianini ignited the time attacks, briefly overtaking Alex Marquez with fresh tires. Marc Marquez then reclaimed the lead for Ducati, with LCR Honda’s Johann Zarco, quick earlier, slotting into second.
Alex Marquez responded, eclipsing Marc’s time in the final ten minutes. However, the KTMs stole the spotlight as Acosta and Binder surged to first in rapid succession, catching the field off guard.
Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia, a three-time Barcelona winner, struggled, languishing in 23rd in the morning and 21st in the afternoon. His final run was thwarted by yellow flags from Bastianini’s crash. Fabio di Giannantonio, also on a GP25, climbed from 22nd to 17th, while reigning champion Jorge Martin could only manage 18th at the track where he debuted the RS-GP last November.
