Formula 1 News: Mercedes F1 and Valtteri Bottas Wow in South Korea
As a potential precursor to a rumored F1 race in South Korea, the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team took over the AMG Speedway in South Korea on Sunday (October 12th), marking F1’s return to the country after over one decade away.
25,000 automotive enthusiasts attended the event in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do as an F1 car ran in the country for the first time since 2013.
Headlining Peaches Run Universe 2025, 10-time Grand Prix winner and the team’s current Third Driver Valtteri Bottas, put on a spectacular demo run in the W13.

The Finn completed several laps of the 4.5km circuit before wowing the crowd by undertaking doughnuts in the car.
Fans were also able to attempt to replicate Valtteri’s display on the team’s simulators, along with getting up close and personal with Mercedes F1 memorabilia, including helmets, overalls, and more.

Valtteri said: “It has been brilliant to bring F1 back to South Korea for the first time in 12 years. I remember the passion of the fans from when I raced here back in 2013 but if anything, that fandom has grown since then. The fans were knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and it was such an honor to have so many people here to enjoy the day.”
