Dakar Rally Stage 10: Al-Attiyah wins in Cars, American Brabec on Bikes

The 2026 Dakar Rally reached a pivotal turning point on January 14 with Stage 10, the concluding leg of the demanding 48-hour marathon stage—a 347km timed special from the remote Bivouac Refuge to Haradh. With no overnight assistance, crews relied purely on self-repairs and resilience amid fast, flowing tracks interspersed with rocky sections, hidden valleys, and a final sandy push that rewarded tire management and navigation precision. The marathon’s toll emerged, with mechanical gremlins and fatigue reshaping both classifications.

In the Bikes category, Ricky Brabec (#9, Monster Energy Honda HRC) unleashed a flawless ride to claim the stage victory in 03h 58′ 44”, capitalizing on a favorable starting position to apply heavy pressure on the leaders. Luciano Benavides (#77, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) responded strongly with second (+00h 03′ 12”), preserving his overall advantage through smart pacing. Daniel Sanders (#1, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) rounded out the podium, chipping away at the gap. Tosha Schareina (#68) and Adrien Van Beveren (#42) kept Honda’s multi-rider assault alive, with the top three now separated by under 10 minutes heading into the final stages.

In the Cars (Ultimate Class), Nasser Al-Attiyah (#299, The Dacia Sandriders) roared back with a dominant stage win in 03h 52′ 10”, navigating flawlessly to reclaim the overall lead after yesterday’s setbacks. Nani Roma (#227, Ford Racing) fought valiantly for second, limiting losses and staying in striking distance. Carlos Sainz (#225, Ford Racing) completed a strong recovery in third, keeping Ford’s hopes alive. Henk Lategan (#202) and Mattias Ekström (#226) posted solid top-10 times, but the marathon exposed vulnerabilities across the field—the fight for victory is tighter than ever.
