Formula 1 News: Checo Pérez Stars In First 2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V Video Ad

Cadillac has unveiled the first commercial for its all-new 2026 Lyriq-V, featuring the brand’s Formula 1 lead driver, Sergio “Checo” Pérez.

The luxury arm of General Motors launched this global ad as part of a major marketing push tied to Cadillac’s upcoming debut in the world’s premier motorsport series. By spotlighting the popular Mexican driver and his F1 entry, Cadillac aims to introduce the Lyriq-V to North American audiences while resonating worldwide.

“We are thrilled to debut the new Lyriq-V with Checo Pérez at the helm, especially in this landmark year for Cadillac on the global stage,” said Maurice Jennings, Global Brand Director of Cadillac. “It enhances our exceptional lineup, delivering innovation, modern luxury, and exhilarating performance for a fresh wave of customers.”

This marks the first global campaign starring Pérez since he joined the Cadillac F1 team last August. The ad positions the 2026 Lyriq-V as the fastest Cadillac in history and the brand’s inaugural all-electric utility vehicle to bear the elite V-Series high-performance designation.

Filmed in Pérez’s hometown of Guadalajara, Mexico, the 30-second spot includes Spanish dialogue to connect with Hispanic viewers across the U.S., Mexico, Latin America, and Spain. It captures Pérez pushing the Lyriq-V to its limits through the city’s streets.

“I was genuinely amazed by the Lyriq-V’s power and performance—it’s astonishing what an electric SUV can achieve,” said Pérez. “Getting behind the wheel showed me why this is the quickest vehicle in Cadillac’s over 120-year legacy.”
