F1 News: Öhlins to Supply Cadillac Formula 1 Team Dampers

The Swedish suspension company, that from 2025 is part of Brembo Group, has teamed up with Cadillac Formula 1® Team to provide their racing dampers, marking a key milestone for Öhlins as a supplier for the American team’s highly anticipated Formula 1 debut.

Upplands Väsby, Sweden: Öhlins, a global leader in high-performance suspension technology, will provide dampers for the Cadillac Formula 1® Team throughout its inaugural 2026 Formula 1® campaign.

Cadillac Formula 1® Team’s car will run Öhlins both front and rear, the culmination of a coordinated, multi-year effort to develop, test, and fine-tune the dampers ahead of the Team’s inaugural season.

For Cadillac and Öhlins – two brands united by quality, performance, and innovation – their alignment was self-evident from the start.

The first prototypes for the front and rear dampers were developed in 2024, followed by a series of pre-production units. Since then, Öhlins’ and Cadillac’s engineering teams have worked in close collaboration – testing, iterating, and refining every component until arriving at the current, final damper concept.

Leveraging Öhlins’ race-proven damping technology, the dampers for the car are designed to integrate seamlessly with its vehicle dynamics and support its aerodynamic platform. The result is a stable yet nimble chassis that delivers precise performance under the demanding conditions of F1, allowing the car to sustain high speeds without losing grip or control.

Additional testing is planned leading up to the 2026 season opener in Melbourne. This final phase is focused on fine-tuning the dampers to ensure maximum safety, reliability, and performance in time for Cadillac Formula 1® Team’s debut.
